India's SpaceX Companies Do you know about them?

Many of us don't know that India has private space companies. They are working hard,  we should support them.

Skyroot

An alumunus of IIT-Kharagpur, Pawan was working as a scientist at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in 2012. He was also an active part of GSLV-Mk-III project for five years. In his sixth year, he became the deputy project manager for the small satellite launch vehicle project.

Bharath, an alumnus of IIT-Madras, also joined VSSC in 2012 but as a flight computer engineer. He built hardware and firmware for multiple on-board computer modules implementing sequencing, navigation, control, and guidance functions of a launch vehicle.

Agnikul

Chennai start-up Agnikul Cosmos is building India's first private small satellite rocket and will be seeking the help of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for conducting tests.

The rocket will be a two-stage LOX/Kerosene vehicle with a third "baby stage". The launch vehicle will be capable of carrying up to 100 kg of payload to low Earth orbits up to 700 km with a plug-and-play engine configuration.

BellatrixAerospace

Bellatrix Aerospace is a private Indian aerospace manufacturer and smallsat launcher headquartered in Bangalore, India. The company was established in 2015. They are planning the first launch of their Chetak rocket in 2023. The two-stage Chetak rocket is powered by a number of their own Aeon engines.

Pixxel

Pixxel founder and CEO Awais Ahmed had planed to launch the satellite but had to push their plans to November due to coronavirus. They are planning to launch the second satellite by July 2021

  • Bangalore based Pixxel to launch first small satellite by November-December
  • Plans to launch a constellation of 24 satellites for 24X7 imaging of earth
  • Pixxel was started in May 2018 by BITS Pilani graduates, Awais Ahmed and Kshitij Khandelwal
  • GrowX Ventures and prominent angel investors have invested in Pixxel
